In a few short days, Google’s latest penalty will roll out. This penalty is targeted towards mobile search landing pages that have an invasive (and typically quite annoying) ad thrown on the screen taking up most, if not all, of the real estate. If the user navigates away from the mobile search landing page though, interstitials are fair game as far as Google is concerned currently.
In a recent Google Webmaster Hangout, a discussion came up related to pages in sitemaps not getting indexed. Google’s response was that you don’t need to worry about individual pages being indexed for the most part and that is completely normal. The ‘most part’ caveat should certainly apply to high value pages and overall percentage of pages not indexed should be small.
Bing has been pushing out an update oriented towards health and wellness. These updates typically produce enhanced results with carousel images or instant answers. This makes results more intuitive, not unlike the way Google currently does this.
