Google seems to be testing a new look for the sitelinks that expand, something Google has been doing for a few years now. But with the new tappable carousel sitelinks, it seems Google needs to try a new format.
Google began testing a format in the local knowledge panel back in 2015 that would allow searchers to book an appointment. Google has a new version they are now displaying in the knowledge panel that is much more prominent to searchers and likely will lead to an increase in bookings. There are two versions Google is testing, one allows those who are logged into their Google account to book directly and the other does not. Instead, the box prompts you to view the schedule instead.
Google is testing displaying in the local pack results if the local website returns the keywords you searched for on their website. For example, if you search for [climate control] in a specific region, the local pack might add an additional line to the search snippet, mentioning if the website in the local listing actually has those words on their web pages.
