Firefox Features Google as Default Search Provider in the U.S., Canada, Hong Kong and Taiwan

Google will become Firefox new default search provider in the United States, Canada, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Firefox default search providers in other regions are Yandex in Russia, Turkey, Belarus and Kazakhstan; Baidu in China; and Google in the rest of the world. Firefox has more than 60 search providers pre-installed across more than 90 languages.

 

Google updates mobile product knowledge panels to show even more info in one spot

Google is updating the look of of its product-oriented knowledge panels on mobile to show even more details about specific products in the search results. The shopping knowledge panel has a blue header and a new carousel featuring third-party editorial reviews and separate tabs for stores in addition to reviews along with several other features, like videos, to provide a one-stop resource for product information.

 

Google: Why Featured Snippets Rankings are Volatile

At Pubcon, Gary Illyes from Google commented about feature snippets and he revealed some important information about why they fluctuate so much. That is because they are in a constant state of updating the featured snippet algo on Google’s end. So don’t expect to see anything from Google on how to get those featured snippets, other than create high quality content that answers the question that people are searching for.
