Improving merchant onboarding for Google My Business API partners

Google announced the release of version 4.2 of the Google My Business API, a way for developers to quickly make modifications to Google My Business listings programmatically. The API can be accessed but is not open to all. You need to request and be granted access in order to use it. The new features include: Verification, GoogleLocations, Search, Chain membership, and Product posts.

Google confirms testing new search results design with sticky header, rounded search bar

Google has confirmed with Search Engine Land that it is testing new user interface for the core search results pages. This new test features a rounded search bar at the top, a smaller Google logo, and, most noticeably, the search bar header sticks to the top as a user scrolls through the results. This was first spotted in a Reddit thread and Google confirmed this is one of its many tests.

Google Testing “Relevant History” Section in Mobile Search Results

Google is testing a new feature in the mobile search results – a drop down section labelled as “Relevant History” that appears at the very top of the mobile search results.  It shows previously visited pages directly related to the search. Henny Roggy shared the screenshots on Twitter showing the feature.
