Google Search Console Now Shows Google-Selected Canonical URLs

Google Search Console will now show site owners which URL has been selected as the canonical version. This information can be found by entering a page’s address in the URL Inspection tool. Google just rolled the update out on March 26:

Google is retiring the info command claiming it “was relatively underused” and that the new URL inspection tool gives users much of that data now anyway. The Google URL inspection tool now shows the Google discovered canonical URL.

Google testing new search menu with icons for maps, news, shopping and more

Google is testing a new search bar menu with icons next to the names of the search categories. So instead of just showing the search vertical filters for displaying news results or image results, Google is showing icons next to those categories.
